My First Whoopsi Daisy....

A while back I managed to buy myself a few Whoopsi Daisy digi stamps but it has taken until now to get around to finishing the process of printing, colouring and making into a card. There are a couple finished but this is my first and as it is sitting in my lounge making me smile, I thought I would share it with you all....

I so love this image and I am really pleased with how it turned out.
The first step was the colouring and, as per usual, I used my trusted promarkers...

I had a bit of a mind blank about a background, I went through my many neglected paper pads and found this one of clouds, I loved the colours and they seemed to work with the image. I also had some digi backgrounds from Card Making Downloads, they were sunsets with beach, again a perfect match but I didn't like the look of a whole sheet and so just cut a selected section with a die (sorry, I don't know the make as it was bought second hand without packaging) and my Big Shot...

I still hadn't decided quite how to do the water, I hadn't coloured it as I felt that, eventually, I would come up with a solution....this solution came in the form of Crystal Lacquers that, quite literally, fell at my feet....

This just left a few finishing touches...first a pink, summery, gingham ribbon...tied in a bow and fixed to the background...

...and then a little bit of bling for this little cherub. Those that know me will tell you how rarely I wear make up...this is not pure laziness...I love the look on the other half's face when I spruce myself up to go out, it would not have the same effect if I wore it daily. Mind you, we haven't got out for the past couple of years, maybe I should surprise him one day...
Ooops, I am digressing....the subject of makeup came up as my lack of wearing it is more than made up for by the way I use it on my cards, eyeshadow for chalk, nail varnish and nail velvet, caviar and glitter for a bit of embellishing...and...I have had a pack of nail charms from the eurostore for a while and decided it was just right to put in her hair...

and so there we are, all put together, I hope that you like it as much as I do...

You can find this and many other digis HERE
