Digimicating with Dragons again...Get Well Soon

As it is a lovely sunny Sunday I decided to share a new card with you, I am stuck inside as the sun really doesn't like me at the moment....it gives me an excuse to have a bit of a play though...

Over at Stamping Dragon Designs Facebook group there was a June Challenge,
the theme was Get Well / Cheer Someone up.
I made mine using the Beatrice kit...

I used four different papers, layering them digitally, the top sheet was a paper that showed a
faded picture of 'Beatrice'...I then went to the elements and added a sticker of Beatrice.
I placed it slightly off set to take advantage of the paper....

I had used lace from the elements with a ribbon over the top and finished with a pin...
so when I mounted the digital bit onto black card and an 8x8 card blank
I finished with some lace rub ons to tie it together...

here is the lace ribbon and...
here is the lace corner...this also shows well the digital lace and ribbon an brads...

I hope you liked this.....and if you haven't looked yet.....I would heartily recommend the
facebook group for fun, chat (and freebies too ;) )...

Summer at Hobbybook

Well, today is the day Summer arrives at Hobbybook, this is the theme for the challenge
that goes live today...and I chose ice cream, my favourite part of Summer.

I did a bit of my digimication to make the background...four digital layers of different
Beach Babe papers. I am really beginning to enjoy this digimication...

I coloured the image...'Yummylicios' with promarkers, trying to match colours with the papers...

With the icecream I used some Anita's 3D Dimensional Paint...I love this stuff and need
to find an Irish stockist as I am nearly out of what I brought over from England.
The flake was coloured in promarkers and I sprinkled seed beads over the wet paint...
believe it or not..they are the sprinkles...

Finally I found a sentiment lurking in my stash, just the right colour and meaning that the card
could be used for any occasion.

I hope that you have liked my lil card and I doubly hope that you will join in the challenge

Thanks for popping by and having a gander at my card, I do appreciate it xxx

This Dragon's a Pussy Cat....

It has been a while since I have shared an image from Stamping Dragon Designs..
BUT....
as I feel like sleeping 24/7 at the moment, this seemed rather appropriate...
AND...
as I don't blog enough and need to get into a routine with it, I can see no better way to start...

So this is my sleepy puddy cat...

The cat is coloured in grey as I had a gorgeous cat who was mainly grey,
his name was Bruiser, when I called him at night it sounded more like Boozer
and my neighbour said that she never knew if I were calling the cat or the husband...

I cut an aperture in a piece of card the size of the card and covered it with some paper
I had lurking in my pile of paper stash.
I used a coordinating paper on the front of the card and positioned the cat.

I wanted to have the ears and leg just outside the frame and so made sure that the ears weren't
glued down and I cut around the lower part of the leg and again made sure not to glue there.

Finally I made a little 'DO NOT DISTURB' sign.....as you should always let sleeping cat's lie...
(I know, I know, I know...that should be sleeping dogs...but why should they get all the shut eye !! )

Dads, Paper and Disappearing Buttons....

....it is coming to that time of year when we show our fathers some appreciation, unfortunately I lost my dad a while back but it doesn't stop me sending him a big kiss on this day, I miss him more than he would ever have realised...
with this in mind I was thinking of him when I made my DT card for the Hobbybook Designer Challenge...

I have used the image called 'sealed with love' as I adore this cute puppy.

Going back to my dad...when I was a child I used to walk the golden retriever next door for the couple that lived there, they had taken him in from their son when his marriage broke up...after a while they decided they were too old to cope with him and so I and my sisters started pleading with my dad for us to have him.....it is me or the dog my dad said...BUT...we got the dog Simba and if we walked it you could guarantee that my dad would hold the lead....

Back to the card...
I did a bit of digimication....I am only just beginning to play around more, digitally speaking, using docrafts Digital Designer I chose an A6 card template and then used a background with papers from Stamping Dragon Designs (Man Thing Papers) and used one of the alphabet sets from a docrafts cd I got free with a magazine (Happy Days) to spell out DAD.
Then I printed three of the puppy images in the same size, one onto a dark tiger patterned paper, one onto the same paper but less saturated in colour and one onto the plain card.
I cut the three pups out and then cut bits from the coloured papers to stick on the plain one. I gave the pup a black sakura glaze nose and added a grey promarker to the envelope to give it a bit of depth. Then I finished him with a red heart on the envelope and stuck it to the printed card with foam pads.

Finally I added some buttons to the card to complete it....this took as long as the rest of the card...
I keep my buttons in a Roses Chocolate tin and you can guarantee that as soon as I see the button I want, I will find a second but I always do things in threes...and that third little blighter will always hide and I end up with rows of two nearly right buttons but never the third...UNTIL of course I put them back and go for gems instead and then that third button makes its own way to the top of the tin and pretends it has been there all the time.....

Still, it is now finished buttons and all and I hope you like it and will join us at Hobbybook for the Dad/Male challenge....thank you for dropping in and I would love you to join my little gang (if you aren't already).
Love and hugs, Sarah x
