Anything goes at the Dragons Lair Challenge...

I am so excited.....so  I need to share it...

Before I get to my latest card, I have some news. Those that know me will remember that I used to be a member of the Stamping Dragon  design team, due to changes in the company the design team had to be downsized and so I had to go.

Stamping Dragon in all its forms has now been taken under the umbrella of the name Dragons Lair Designs...and I was asked to come back on board with the Challenge Blog to help the new design team leader....then she had to step down due to ill health...and I was asked to step in.

With much trepidation I had to agree, the Dragons have always had a special part of my heart and I had missed them....

I have managed to write my first Challenge Blog and am so looking forward to what lies ahead.....I only have a couple of DTs and only tried for one other. I have only applied for DTs for designers that I already use their designs and who I respect and I am quite happy with my two special DTs

So, on with the card,

I almost forgot about my own card but soon managed to have a play,

I coloured the image with promarkers and gave it a subdued background by using cream and grey ranges of promarker all over and then using a blender pen over the top of it all. I find that, not only are the colours lightened, but it also gives almost a sponged look...

I had a pack of papers and card that I found in Lidl years ago, one of the pieces was Autumn leaves with some of them glittered and glazed. I mounted the image onto orange card and then cut the leaf card to size, rather than losing the leaves behind the image I decided to cut around some of the leaves and use them like photo corners...

I really liked the way that the leaves had the glitter but the glaze over them stopped it being too rough and bright....

So that is it, a new role and a new card...

Include an animal at Hobbybook Designer Challenge

I'm here....slightly late....but here...

It is that time again, new challenge time over at Hobbybook and this time it is to 'Include and Animal'. There are loads of animals in the Hobbybook store, all shapes and sizes...so what to choose ????

I went with one of the new designs.. AW KITTY

For this image I went back to my promarkers, I am not sure if I accidentally used the wrong card or it was a bit of an iffy sheet but it didn't blend as well as it should...

The only thing I didn't use the markers for was the flowers on the hair band, for the petals I used a glittery Sakura pen...

There was one special detail on the image that I actually only noticed when I did my usual Sakura glaze on the eyes etc. and that was the little hearts...so very very cute...

I then cut out the image and found a backing paper, not the one I was looking for but still...what I did find however were a few hundred sheets I really want to play with !!!
I found a frame with cats on in Free Craft Downloads, it was a bit bright and so I took it into a graphics programme and gave it a transparency of 50%. Naturally this also diluted the colour of the cats but I didn't want to recolour them or it would draw away from the image...and so I just went over them with a clear Sakura glaze..

I added a gem in each corner and made a bow from some organza/chiffon material strips I have had around for ages...

So here is another look at the card, I hope you like it and will come and join in with us in the challenge...
